Common mistakes you make in IBDP Psychology

Based on the subject report which IB publishes, you get a complete understanding of the grade boundaries for all the course components. The understanding sets a yardstick for you to evaluate your performance on each question you answer in the exam.

For IBDP Psychology Paper 1

Never generalise your example when the question asks you for a concrete evidence to exemplify human behaviour.

Don’t just cite a concept and keep it unexplained. You should always make it a point of unpacking a concept you refer to in answering a question.

For short answer questions you need not have to use your evaluation skill, unlike the essay type question.

You are required to be critical in your thinking skills in handling the essay type questions.

For IBDP Psychology Paper 2

Never forget to unpack the questions and the key concepts.

For HL candidates, it is very salient for you to remember that the first two questions may not be long, however the third one should have clarity in unpacking every concept with critical thinking skills.
