About Me & IBDP
Hello, I’m Shailey Valecha
IBDP, IB curriculum, TOK, IB subject guides, Research, Sports, and Music are the connection between me and my students. I personally feel these hobbies help me to connect with my students more than I thought. I like cycling and music, I like listening, Post Malone, Eminem, Goo Goo Dolls, Alanis Morissette, U2, John Mayor, R D Burman, Kishore Kumar, and many more. This common interest between me and my students has always worked. Having a good bond with the students is the essential agreement and approach at SEV7N. This helps me know them better as we try to achieve our common IB goals.

Here you can find an interesting write-up on ‘Why IB’ from few of our previous students, their Journey, and why you should choose us. Each student is unique and therefore I ensure that we give a lot of attention to the needs of students because we are not just tutors but mentors.Â
Get In Touch
After spending almost a decade in the banking and finance industry, I happened to explore IB while searching for a school for my son. The International Baccalaureate program fascinated me so much with its approach to learning and teaching that I decided to drop a lucrative job and a promising career ahead by finally choosing to work for a school as a teacher.Â
Today, I am glad that I made the right choice as I am now a better learner and knower after spending 13 years in IB. Gradually over the years, I have become an examiner in IBDP for Business management, Economics, Theory of knowledge, and Extended essay.Â
IB is a great curriculum that promotes international-mindedness and a caring attitude. I am here to share my experiences and knowledge with IBDP and IGCSE students which I have gathered over the years. Help us in knowing your academic needs and challenges and we ensure you that we don’t disappoint you.
Happy learning!
My Experiences
I have witnessed that most students struggle with understanding the questions in the IB exam papers. It is important to know and understand the command terms in IB. Further, one must not forget the triangulation of the Concept- context-content. The IBDP subject courses are slowly moving towards linking all three so that learning becomes easy and practically sensible for the future students. Here are my SEV7N identifiable points that mostly are the deterrents for students in scoring a perfect SEV7N:
- Missing the question reading ability
- Missing one deadline and then gradually missing mostly all (90%)
- TOK phobia (75%)
- Not reading subject guides (50%)
- Submitting work but compromising on quality
- Not following the ‘Right time first’ approach (95%)
- Failing to identify controllable factorsÂ
90% DEADLINE
75% TOK PHOBIA
50% SUBJECT GUIDES
95% RIGHT TIME FIRST APPROAD
IBDP Year 1
